We had the same experience with this art prize

Hi Davide,

Thank you for sharing. We had a similar experience with same art prize and wondered whether we had “participated” unknowingly in an art scam. Unfortunately, we found your warning a bit too late. Well, here’s our experience. My wife paid the fee, completed her submittal, and found out yesterday (3 Nov 21) that her work was not selected. Like you, we have no issue with the fee or the selection process. However, we are concerned whether the work was ever reviewed by anyone as promised. My wife created an art website specifically to enter the contest. Her art website has a detailed analytics engine that provides information on visitors and traffic. No “visitors” from Luxembourg, France, or anywhere on the continent of Europe visited her site. All traffic was from North America -less than 2 dozen unique visitors. We can account and identify all visits. We have no evidence that prize jurors reviewed the work. It was this data that caused me to search for a potential scam angle and I found your warning. So, Caveat Emptor art colleagues. Something smells in Luxembourg.

unorthodox financial art

It was displeasing to read about “bad” experiences with art festivals and such with art. An alternative approach to the artwork might be a consideration to avoid any potential “bad” experiences. Might a suggestion be understood involving an elusive example with quantum physics in theory. Don’t believe in ‘bad’ experiences strong enough with altering perception and perhaps they will no longer exist.

In an estimation, anytime there is a price attached to anything it will be a scam. Avoiding any form of financial system might be the best solution for continued ‘good’ experiences with attempts in art. It may not be necessary to be subjected to being connected with things we may not agree with or intend for creating. Paying for involvement with art could possibly be paid in other forms of individual expression through skills, ability and time.

An art festival to end all festivals. Created and established purely from individuals time, efforts, hard work, skill and ability rather than any form of orthodox financial system and in an exchange of mutual benefit of equivalent value.
